SLII:  A SITUATIONAL APPROACH TO LEADERSHIP

SLII:  A SITUATIONAL APPROACH TO LEADERSHIP

A Situational Approach to Leadership (SLII) is a leadership program which provides the foundation for all people managers to be able to manage more effectively.

By understanding the direct report’s competence and commitment to a task, the leader can then decide which levers to “pull” to provide better direction and support to that person, thus championing their growth and success on projects.

Audience

Whether new to managing others or a seasoned professional, this program will make it easier to increase engagement and effectiveness for any team of direct reports.

This workshop can be used to augment existing leadership development programs or serve as a stand-alone program.

  • Experienced Leaders
  • High-Potentials (moving into People Mangement roles)
  • Women’s Leadership
  • People Managers who need additional support

How the Program is Delivered

The SLII program is a 2-part cohort based experience starting with the LEARN portion and followed up with the PRACTICE session.  By separating the 2 outcomes, it allows the learner to focus on specific outcomes, which is part of the reason it is one of the best leadership programs.  The program can be delivered in multiple ways:

Blended Learning Approach (Recommended)

      • The LEARN portion is completed by learners asynchronously on their own time.  The 3-hour interactive session can be broken down for learners to complete over the course of multiple days.
      • The PRACTICE session brings the cohort together to put into practice what they’ve learned.  This can be facilitated virtually (3 hours over 3 days) or in-person (8.5 hour day).

Classroom Based Approach

    • The LEARN session is facilitated on Day 1 (8.5 hours) with the entire cohort and the PRACTICE session is facilitated on Day 2 (8.5 hours).

In addition to the workshops, there is an assessment both before and after the program.
